Hi everyone! My name is Caryn and I am a high school senior living in NJ. I met my friend Nadzeya during our freshman year of high school. I am excited to share her perspective of how COVID-19 affected her life as a senior now living in Russia! Nadzeya describes her time in quarantine as starting out very pessimistic. Then, it became more positive when she realized that she wanted to improve herself by working harder and consistently. By having a growth mindset, she adapted to the virtual environment by going about her day as if she was surrounded by her classmates and friends at school. She even did daily workouts at home, which was more challenging than she thought it would be! Furthermore, she was grateful for the opportunity to spend more time with her family members, which is something many of us didn’t make time to do. While Nadzeya’s experience was bittersweet, overall, she would prefer her normal lifestyle.
